Kernwert
Kernwert digitises food-safety self-checks in restaurants and food retail. A QR sticker on the cold room is all it takes: scan, tap your name, enter the temperature – in seconds and without a password, on the kitchen tablet or on your own phone.
The challenge
Paper temperature logs are incomplete, hard to read and impossible to find when they matter. At the same time, nobody in a busy kitchen has time to log into an app. The solution has to work in seconds and still produce records that stand up to an inspection.
The solution
Every checkpoint – cold room, fryer, bain-marie, goods receipt – gets its own sticker. Staff join the team once via QR code and from then on simply tap their name; while entering a value they see immediately whether it is within range. A deviation can only be saved together with the corrective action taken. Management sees what is still open today, spots gaps in the monthly calendar and generates a complete inspection folder in A4 format at the push of a button. The business's own HACCP plan remains authoritative.
The outcome
Kernwert is the evolution of our working web solution Kontrollpunkt into a dedicated app for the App Store and Google Play. Design and workflows are in place; the store version with its server is in progress.
