My Lucky Charm
My Lucky Charm is a playful lucky-charm app for the App Store and Google Play. Its mascot "Lucky", a lively four-leaf clover, accompanies users through the day with motivating prompts, small rituals and goals.

The challenge
Motivation apps usually lose their users within a few days. At the same time, many game mechanics quickly drift towards loot boxes or pay-to-win. The brief was a concept that brings daily joy, stays fair and can still sustain itself.
The solution
Daily rituals, reminders at freely chosen times and lucky moments give the day structure. Goals for day, week, month and year, streaks of lucky days and an opt-in weekly leaderboard keep motivation up. Coins can be earned and spent on outfits, fortune cookies and unlocks; a mini-game adds variety. Fair-play rules are part of the design: random rewards never depend on purchased coins, purchased coins do not count towards the leaderboard, and leaderboard names are filtered automatically.
The outcome
The store package for version 1.0 is complete – with test builds, an operator area for moderation, cloud builds without a Mac of our own and a dedicated landing page. Several independent review rounds have safeguarded app, server and leaderboard; publication in the app stores comes next.
