Klasso
Klasso connects schools and kindergartens with parents and pupils: parent letters with a short summary and signature on the phone, one-tap sick notes, a timetable with substitutions and automatic translation so every family reads in its own language – in the lively style of modern learning apps.
The challenge
Communication between school and home often runs through notes in the homework diary, scattered emails and chat groups. Teachers are contacted late into the evening, parents miss deadlines, families with another first language are left out – and so are the children themselves. At the same time, children's data deserves particular protection.
The solution
Parents see at a glance what needs doing today: letters with a "short version", consent forms signed on the phone, a sick note in seconds, the timetable with cancellations and substitutions and, the evening before, the school-bag check. Messages and letters are translated automatically into each family's language, and the interface is available in 20 languages. Teachers see who has read what, send gentle reminders and protect their evenings with an after-hours mode. Pupils tick off homework, collect stars and work towards a class goal – deliberately without leaderboards, chat or their own email address. Depending on the type of institution – primary school, secondary school, kindergarten or after-school care – Klasso shows only what is needed there.
The outcome
The result is a working web app plus apps for iPhone and Android with notifications, email delivery and dedicated areas for school management, teachers, parents and pupils. Message content is not sent through the Apple and Google push services. More than 130 automated test runs and two independent reviews per release safeguard permissions, privacy and presentation; live operation and app store submission come next.
