Bulli & Bär
Bulli & Bär is one product in two editions: desktop software for Windows and Mac that runs rule-based trading strategies in test mode and live via Kraken and Binance – and a mobile app that boils market analysis down to one question: long, short or wait.
The challenge
Automated trading strategies are only as good as their safeguards: missing stops, duplicate orders or a computer going to sleep can be costly. At the same time, technical analysis is a wall of indicators and jargon for most people, and many apps promise more than they deliver. The brief was software that puts safety before features and shows honestly what a strategy actually delivers.
The solution
The desktop edition runs entirely on the user's own computer – no cloud; exchange keys never leave the device and are stored encrypted. Every strategy first runs in test mode with real price history and fees; once it proves itself, a live copy is created with one click. A watchdog checks every open trade at short intervals, risk limits and a portfolio-wide trading stop kick in automatically, and backtest, archive and statistics show transparently what happened. The mobile app uses a dedicated, tested analysis engine and shows only what matters: a traffic light, a confidence percentage and a plan with entry, stop and targets – explained playfully by the mascots Bulli and Bär.
The outcome
The desktop software is working, with installers for Windows and Mac, signed updates and an annual licence issued via AUTOMATA and bound to one computer. The mobile app for iOS and Android is in development; the analysis engine and a web edition with real market data are complete and tested. For both: no investment advice, and leveraged trading can cost more than the stake.
